Diversifying the Engineering Community: From Campus to Workforce

We’ve convened a group of engineering experts to offer insight into what’s working — and what’s not working — at their institutions when it comes to promoting inclusivity. Our STEM admissions colleagues for a panel discussion on new ways the graduate engineering community can come together to tackle these problems. We cover topics like:

  • Recognizing the challenges — and opportunities — for tomorrow’s engineering workforce
  • Understanding what diversity means to your institution, your individual program and your specific discipline
  • Developing a recruitment and enrollment strategy that supports your diversity goals; and
  • Promoting a culture of inclusivity that attracts and yields the students today who will advance your discipline

Presented by:

  • Stephanie Adams, Ph.D., Incoming President-elect, ASEE
  • Rebecca Bates, Ph.D., Vice Chair, ASEE Diversity Committee
  • Noha El-Ghobashy, VP Strategic Initiatives, Institute for Transformative Technologies
  • Ron Hyman, Executive Director, Global CAS Development, Liaison
